Wood Innovation Lab
Company description

Company history
Founded by Thomas Auer, Winnlab emerged from the vision of actively shaping the timber industry through research and networking, and driving "wood innovations." Its core partners combine the craftsmanship of Auer Holzmanufaktur, the network of Baumstark, and the academic excellence of MCI Innsbruck. Since then, it has served as a central "think tank" within the holding company, fostering the exchange of knowledge between academia and industry.

Winnlab aims to become the leading institute for applied wood research, setting new standards in digital fabrication and automation. Plans include increased collaboration with startups and scientists to bring ecological lightweight components and smart surfaces to market maturity. The long-term goal is to establish wood as a high-tech material in new industrial sectors and to lead the transformation towards sustainable, digital wood processing.
